On the outside, Tessa Woodrow is your ordinary, beautiful, professional working young woman in New York City. She has a great job, a killer apartment in the trendy part of Brooklyn, and a wardrobe that would make just about any twenty-seven-year-old female jealous.
Unfortunately, Tessa also has secrets, and hers happen to be much more complicated than she would ever let on to the outside observer.
Andrew James, on the other hand, has very few secrets. After all, it’s hard to have them when you’re a world-famous actor. When he’s not busy starring in a smash-hit TV series, he spends his time in London with his wife and kids, or gallivanting around New York City with his best friend and costar.
It seems as if Andrew and Tessa are the last two people the universe would ever bring together. But clearly fate has other plans…
What I thought: Oh man, I devoured this book. I am a sucker for a good romance and Nyla delivers. Andrew and Tessa’s chemistry was impossible to ignore – from the moment they laid eyes on each other, I wanted them to hook up. Nyla teases her readers mercilessly before we get a taste of their relationship and once they start…well….you’ll have to decide what you want more: to go to sleep or stay up late and keep reading. I chose the latter and I can’t wait for the next book.
The Quote: He didn’t know what this strange hold was that she had on him, but he knew it was going to be very difficult to break.
But what if I don’t want to break it?
Why I chose it: The same thing could be said about this novel overall – the story has a hold on you that doesn’t let go even after the story has ended. I could have stopped at anytime, but I didn’t want to! I bought the next books but unfortunately I can’t tackle them yet because of my already long TBR, but it’s there! I promise it’s there!
About the Author:
I love reading all kinds of fiction, although I have a passion for the dirty, smutty, taboo, and almost any other kind of romantic, erotic, love story. My books are not for the faint of heart. Meaning that I’m still getting used to being able to look people in the eye after they tell me they’ve read my book. But it’s a work in progress.
I like my books sexy, funny, light-hearted, dramatic, relevant, and often boundary-pushing. The thing I love most about books is that they help us to escape from the stresses and turmoil of our lives, and hop into a different time/place/reality. Reading broadens our horizons and opens our minds. That’s what I set out to do with my writing.
That being said, I also like writing (and reading) books with a little substance. In my books, there may be insta-love and happy endings, but the characters also deal with real, raw emotions and turmoil. My books allow the reader to experience realistic, potentially dark events alongside the characters, while also providing a sensual escape from real life.
If that makes any sense… It kind of sounds like a big fat contradiction lol.
But I guess you’ll need to read them to see what I’m talking about ;)connecting with other authors and readers.
